The
Phthalcon 11 product is developed to give permanent antistatic
properties to thermoplastic polymers like PP, PE, PS,
EPS, PA, CTA and others. The antistatic
properties can be reached at only 0.5 w% and stay even
after stretching of more then 100 times. Besides of above
mentioned properties the Phthalcon 11 product can give
nucleating agent properties at a concentration of only
5 ppm. The product colors blue but when applicated in
thin layers (< 5µm) almost colorless transparent
products can be produced.
The Phthalcon 11 powder needs to be nanop dispersed in
the thermoplastic polymer. Different methods are investigated
but the most reproducable method is dispersing the nano
particles in a masterbatch. The Phthalcon 11 masterbatch
can be added in standard production processes like film
extrusion, blow moulding and fiber extrusion without the
need of big adjustments to the process.
